Isaiah McPeak

As a debater… Isaiah received a debate scholarship to Patrick Henry College based on placing 3rd in NCFCA team policy in 2004, and service to debate by founding HSD’s Research Club, IMPACT (a Maryland speech and debate club), and helping Baltimore-area schools with debate. Isaiah McPeak studied Strategic Intelligence at PHC and received national awards for team value, team policy, LD-policy, LD-value, moot court, and parliamentary debate.

As a coach… Isaiah rose from being a successful debate competitor to become PHC’s Executive Debate Coach, where he served for 2.5 years. Under Isaiah’s leadership PHC experienced its most successful year of parliamentary debate, including multiple tournament victories, and won the NCCFI national championship in varsity policy debate in 2008. Isaiah is a co-founder and policy debate coach of Vector, VA, a high school speech and debate club, which qualified 5 teams to NCFCA nationals 2009 and again in 2010, when they brought home the national title (by Josiah McPeak and Patrick Shipsey, also long time Ethos staff). Isaiah also coached Peter Voell and Josiah McPeak in parli debate when they won the national parliamentary championship in 2011.

Isaiah’s long-held passion is to train others to think critically and communicate effectively. When these skills are properly guided towards truth, wisdom is the result and it will be used powerfully for the kingdom of God.

Himself an experienced researcher and published writer on policy subjects ranging from immigration, to biohazard transportation, to ethnic groups in Nigeria, Isaiah feels his experience is best used in teaching others. He is an analyst for Best Value Technology, Inc. (BVTI), supporting homeland security programs, biodefense, and corporate management. Isaiah lives with his wife and daughter in Ashburn, Virginia.
