Peter Voell

Over five years of competition, Peter Voell achieved regional and national recognition in Team Policy and Parliamentary debate. He is the former perennial leader of the Homeschooldebate.com Research Club, a nationwide group of debaters who interact in a virtual environment to better research skills, discuss round strategy and foster deeper understanding of resolutional topics.

Peter has assisted in evidence management for Vector, his local debate club (coached by Isaiah McPeak). He currently serves as Vector’s Extemporaneous Coach, and additionally holds regional and national titles in Extemporaneous speaking.

A nationally recognized researcher in the debate world, Peter recently brought his research ability into the corporate arena, where his work as a research analyst for a federal contractor was included in presentations before Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Department of Homeland Security Chief Medical Officer Dr. Alexander Garza.

Peter believes that intellectual capabilities and pursuit of academic ends are only useful insofar as they are used to communicate truth, or, that which coheres to reality. The descent into sophistry is a journey easily taken, and one that requires much care to avoid. Peter encourages students to devote themselves to learning, to filter their knowledge through a coherent worldview, and to argue only for what they believe to be true.
