In many ways the antithesis of his older bother/former partner in debating style, competitive success (haha), and other things (with the notable exception of a strict, common openness policy), Zack has enjoyed every single qualifying, championship, and open tournament since his debate experience began in 2008 (India Resolution). Equal to his love of research and strategy sessions is his desire to insert as much applicable (and…non-offensive <grin>) humor into each debate as his exhausted brain will allow.
Zack has enjoyed moderate competitive success in 2009, achieving 1st seed at three of the five regional qualifiers (6-0, 6-0, 5-1), winning the final regional qualifier, placing 3rd at two other regional qualifiers, in addition to receiving 3rd place speaker at the Region IX Regional Championship and later competing at the 2009 National Championship. In 2010, Zack placed 4th at the final regional qualifier and 6th at Region IX’s Regional Championship (missing nationals by one slot), where he also received fifth place speaker.
This year, 2011, Zack took 3rd place, 2nd speaker at the first regional qualifier and 4th place, 5th speaker at the Region IX Regional Championship. Before graduating form high school, he is determined to experience every possible preliminary record, with 0-6 being the only record he has not yet experienced.
