Congratulations to Dan Pugh, who just won the National Parliamentary Debate Association’s (NPDA) Novice Nationals!!
Dan wrote briefs for Ethos the previous two years and was coached by Isaiah in the Vector Debate Club for three years, where Dan spent 2008/9 and 2009/10 seasons as Team Captain, and took home the Region IX Title twice. He really dedicated his last years in high school to helping others, so it is great to see his success now. This lends proof to what I often say, that helping others is the best way to improve debating yourself.
Dan is currently a freshman at Grove City College where he has been a rising star on the parliamentary debate team. This recent accomplishment is huge since the NPDA is the largest parliamentary debate league and regularly hosts 180+ teams at its main national championship.
